[Steamed Garlic with Cinnamon and Honey] A Ultimate Recipe for Vascular Cleansing! (ft. Dr. Kim So-hyung, Channel H)
Steamed garlic infused with a rich cinnamon aroma loses its spiciness, becoming chewy and delightfully sweet. Imagine the taste and aroma of this perfectly steamed garlic, bursting with cinnamon notes, meeting sweet honey. It’s a delicious and healthy dessert, perfect for enjoying one clove a day. Let’s make ‘Cinnamon Steamed Garlic Honey’, a delightful ‘honey garlic’ that’s also a perfect thoughtful gift.
Ingredients- 300g Garlic
- 3 pieces Cinnamon stick
- 300g Honey
- 1 piece Cheesecloth (or steaming cloth)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 300g of garlic. Wash them thoroughly under running water and carefully trim off the roots. This makes them much easier to eat later.
Step 2
Place 3 cinnamon sticks in your steamer. The subtle cinnamon aroma will infuse the garlic, creating a more flavorful honeyed garlic.
Step 3
Once the steamer is filled with steam, place the prepared garlic in the steamer basket. To prevent the garlic from sticking to the bottom of the steamer, it’s helpful to line the basket with cheesecloth (or a steaming cloth) before adding the garlic. This small step enhances the final result.
Step 4
Cover the steamer with a lid and steam over high heat for 10 minutes. Then, turn off the heat and let it steam for another 10 minutes, allowing the garlic to cook through completely. This is a total steaming and resting process of 20 minutes.
Step 5
Remove the steamed garlic from the steamer and let it dry completely. You can pat it dry with paper towels, but for maximum moisture removal, I spread it out on a balcony to air dry for 24 hours. Ensuring the garlic is well-dried is key to maintaining its chewy texture when mixed with honey.
Step 6
Take the thoroughly dried and slightly firm garlic. Place it into a glass jar that has been sterilized with boiling water and completely dried. This ensures hygienic storage, allowing you to enjoy it for a longer period.
Step 7
Finally, pour enough honey to completely cover the garlic. It’s best to use a ratio of honey similar to the amount of garlic.
Step 8
The ‘Cinnamon Steamed Honey Garlic’, with its warm cinnamon scent and sweet honey, feels like a healthy tonic for your blood vessels, especially in winter! The visual alone is reassuring.
Step 9
Let the finished honeyed garlic mature at room temperature for 3 days, then refrigerate for another 2 weeks to further develop the flavors. For health benefits, it’s recommended to consume 1-2 cloves daily.
