Main Ingredients

  • Oats (Quick or Rolled Oats): 1/2 cup (approx. 4-5 tbsp)
  • Milk: 120ml (adjust to your preference)
  • Plain Greek Yogurt: 60g
  • Chia Seeds: 1 tbsp
  • Maple Syrup: 15g (can substitute with honey or other sweeteners)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare a sealable glass jar. Since overnight oats require refrigeration, a clean jar with a lid is essential. You can easily find these at stores like Daiso or supermarkets.

Step 1

Step 2

Pour 120ml of milk into the prepared jar, then add 1/2 cup (about 4-5 tbsp) of oats. The absorption rate can vary depending on the type of oats, so feel free to adjust the amount to achieve your desired consistency.

Step 2

Step 3

Add 60g of plain Greek yogurt and stir gently to combine the oats and milk. Greek yogurt will make your overnight oats richer and creamier.

Step 3

Step 4

Add 15g of maple syrup for sweetness. If you prefer it sweeter, you can add a little more. If you don’t have maple syrup, other sweeteners like honey or agave syrup can be used.

Step 4

Step 5

Finally, add 1 tbsp of chia seeds, the superfood star, and stir well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed. It’s important to mix thoroughly to prevent the chia seeds from clumping.

Step 5

Step 6

Close the lid tightly and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight. This allows the oats and seeds to soak and soften, creating a delicious texture.

Step 6

Step 7

When you take it out of the refrigerator and open the lid, you’ll notice the wonderful, thick consistency of the overnight oats, as the ingredients have melded together beautifully. Exciting, isn’t it?

Step 7

Step 8

Now, customize your overnight oats with your favorite toppings! I added fresh blueberries, banana slices, and a generous sprinkle of nuts. A single mint leaf as a garnish adds a lovely touch of freshness and aroma. Bringing the jar closer, you’ll enjoy the pleasant blend of nutty grains and herbal scents. Enjoy your delicious and healthy meal!
