In just minutes, you’ll have a delicious, crispy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside treat. We highly recommend serving them with yogurt, honey, and almonds for an elevated cafe-worthy dessert experience at home!
Ingredients- Injeolmi (Korean rice cake) 100g (about 2-3 pieces)
- Plain Yogurt 20-30g (adjust to taste)
- Almonds 5-6 nuts
- Honey, a little
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the injeolmi into 2-3 pieces, each about 2-3 cm thick, suitable for your waffle maker. Preheat your waffle maker, then place the injeolmi pieces into each section. Close the lid and cook over medium-low heat for about 8-10 minutes. The injeolmi will melt and puff up into a waffle shape. It’s a good idea to check halfway through to ensure it’s not sticking.
Step 2
While the injeolmi waffles are cooking, prepare the almonds. Finely chop 5-6 almonds using a knife. Aim for a slightly coarse chop rather than a powder, so you get a nice texture.
Step 3
After cooking for about 8-10 minutes, open the waffle maker. You’ll find perfectly golden-brown injeolmi waffles ready to enjoy! They’ll have a wonderfully crisp exterior and a satisfyingly chewy interior.
Step 4
Carefully transfer the warm injeolmi waffles to a pretty plate. Now, let’s make it a delightful dessert! Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of smooth plain yogurt generously over the waffles. Then, drizzle honey or maple syrup in a zigzag pattern for a touch of sweetness. Finally, sprinkle the chopped almonds over the top for added crunch and nutty flavor. Your delicious injeolmi waffles are complete and ready to impress!
