Ingredients

  • 180g frozen squid
  • 1 egg
  • Zucchini, to taste
  • Carrot, to taste
  • Green bell pepper, to taste
  • Red bell pepper, to taste
  • 1.5 Tbsp tempura flour
  • 2 pinches salt
  • A dash of black pepper
  • Cooking oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, rinse the frozen squid under cold running water to remove any ice crystals, then pat it dry. Place the squid in a food processor and finely chop it. Transfer the chopped squid to a bowl.

Step 1

Step 2

Finely chop the zucchini, carrot, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper. If you prefer, you can chop these vegetables along with the squid in the food processor for an even quicker preparation.

Step 2

Step 3

Add the chopped squid and minced vegetables to the bowl. Crack in the egg, add 1.5 tablespoons of tempura flour, a dash of black pepper, and 2 pinches of salt. At this stage, do not add any water; the egg is sufficient to bind the ingredients.

Step 3

Step 4

Using a spatula or spoon, mix everything together thoroughly until well combined. Ensure the squid and vegetables are evenly coated with the tempura flour and egg mixture.

Step 4

Step 5

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the hot pan, forming small, round pancakes. Flatten them slightly.

Step 5

Step 6

Cook the pancakes for a few minutes on each side until they are golden brown and nicely crisp. Once both sides are beautifully browned, your delicious squid pancakes are ready! Serve them warm for the best flavor.
