Main Ingredients
  • 70g Soy protein chunks
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 1/3 Carrot
  • 2 Korean green chilies (Cheongyang peppers)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare 70g of soy protein. If you are using dried soy protein products, prepare them according to the product instructions.

Step 2

Soak the soy protein in lukewarm water for about 20 minutes until softened. After soaking, drain it well in a colander and then squeeze out as much water as possible by hand. This step is crucial for achieving a chewy texture when stir-fried.

Step 3

Wash the onion, carrot, and Korean green chilies, then pat them dry. Julienne all the vegetables into thin strips. Cutting the vegetables to a similar size will ensure they cook evenly and create a harmonious texture.

Step 4

Heat a little cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the prepared soy protein and the julienned vegetables. Stir-fry them together. It’s best to cook over medium heat rather than high heat to prevent burning and to bring out the flavors of the ingredients.

Step 5

Once the vegetables begin to soften and become slightly translucent, add 1 tablespoon of store-bought Bulgogi sauce. Stir well to coat all the ingredients evenly. Taste the mixture, and if it’s not salty enough, add another tablespoon of sauce and continue to stir-fry to adjust the seasoning. It’s advisable to add the sauce gradually to avoid making it too salty.

Step 6

This stir-fried soy protein dish is incredibly delicious, with a chewy texture that’s remarkably similar to real meat! If you’re preparing this for children who don’t enjoy spicy food, simply omit the Korean green chilies, and you’ll have a fantastic side dish that the whole family can enjoy.
