Ingredients

  • 250g Bunmoza noodles
  • 1 handful Green onions (about 30g)
  • 70ml Whipping cream
  • 2 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Soy sauce
  • 100ml Water
  • A pinch of Black pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the star of our dish: the bunmoza noodles. Rinse them thoroughly under running water. Soaking them in water for a bit before cooking will help achieve an even softer, chewier texture.

Step 1

Step 2

Now, let’s create the base for our delicious rose sauce. In a wide pan, combine 2 tablespoons of gochujang, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. This balanced blend is key to a rich and flavorful sauce.

Step 2

Step 3

Add 100ml of water to the pan and bring it to a boil over high heat. It’s crucial to stir well with a spatula to dissolve the seasoning paste completely as it heats up. This ensures a smooth and perfectly blended sauce.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the sauce begins to bubble vigorously, add all the soaked bunmoza noodles to the pan. Gently separate the noodles as you add them to prevent them from sticking together.

Step 4

Step 5

Pour in 70ml of whipping cream to add a luxurious creaminess to the rose sauce. (Tip: The original recipe mentioned 100ml, but 70ml provides a more balanced flavor and texture.) Keep stirring the tteokbokki to prevent it from sticking to the bottom and to ensure the sauce coats the noodles evenly.

Step 5

Step 6

When the bunmoza noodles start to soften slightly, add about a handful of roughly chopped green onions. The fresh aroma of the green onions will enhance the overall flavor of the tteokbokki. Continue to simmer until the bunmoza noodles are cooked through and tender.

Step 6

Step 7

Finally, sprinkle a pinch of black pepper for an extra layer of aroma. Your chewy and delicious Rose Bunmoza Tteokbokki is now ready! The sight of it alone is mouthwatering.

Step 7

Step 8

And there you have it – a special Rose Tteokbokki made with unique bunmoza noodles! Enjoy the fantastic combination of chewy noodles and creamy rose sauce right away!
