Main Ingredients- King Oyster Mushrooms 500g
- 1 Onion
- 1/4 Green Bell Pepper
- 1/4 Red Bell Pepper
Seasoning- 1 Tbsp Salt
- 1 Tsp Black Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Perilla Oil (Deulgireum)
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Salt
- 1 Tsp Black Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Perilla Oil (Deulgireum)
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently rinse the King Oyster Mushrooms under running water. Then, tear them lengthwise into manageable pieces. Tearing them this way helps them absorb seasoning better and improves their texture.
Step 2
After tearing, place the mushrooms in a colander and drain them thoroughly. It’s important to remove excess moisture by shaking them gently, as too much water can make the stir-fry soggy.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine the drained mushrooms with 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix well to coat evenly. Let the mushrooms sit for about 20 minutes. This salting process draws out moisture, contributing to a chewier texture.
Step 4
After 20 minutes, you’ll notice the mushrooms have released some moisture, making them look plump. Heat a pan over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of perilla oil. Stir-fry the mushrooms quickly over medium-high heat for a short time to maintain their chewy texture. Avoid overcooking.
Step 5
Once the mushrooms are slightly cooked, add the thinly sliced onion. Continue to stir-fry until the onions become translucent. This will add a natural sweetness to the dish.
Step 6
Finally, turn off the heat. Add the thinly sliced green bell pepper and red bell pepper. Toss them gently with the residual heat from the pan for just a minute to keep them crisp. Finish by sprinkling 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds for a nutty aroma. Your delicious Stir-Fried King Oyster Mushrooms are now ready!
