Ingredients- 2 Korean rice cakes (garaetteok), about 15cm long each
- 2 slices Cheddar cheese
- 15g Butter
- 1 Tbsp Grated Parmesan cheese
- 0.5 Tbsp Dried parsley flakes
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all your ingredients. You’ll need 2 Korean rice cakes (garaetteok), each about 15cm long. You can adjust the size according to your preference.
Step 2
Next, place a frying pan over low heat and melt 15g of butter. It’s important to melt the butter slowly over low heat to prevent it from burning.
Step 3
Once the butter is melted, add the prepared rice cakes to the pan and grill them evenly on both sides. Cut each 15cm rice cake in half to create 4 pieces for easier cooking and eating. Grill the rice cakes over low heat until they are golden brown and slightly chewy.
Step 4
When the rice cakes are nicely golden brown, transfer them to a serving plate. Place the Cheddar cheese slices on top of the grilled rice cakes, cutting each slice in half to make 4 pieces. Arrange them neatly to cover the rice cakes.
Step 5
Now, it’s time to use the microwave. Place the rice cakes topped with cheese into the microwave and heat for about 30 seconds, or until the cheese is slightly melted and creamy.
Step 6
Remove from the microwave. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese for a nutty flavor and 0.5 tablespoon of dried parsley flakes for a fresh touch. Your delicious and chewy grilled rice cakes with cheese are now ready! They taste best when served warm.
