Salad Ingredients

  • 150g acorn jelly
  • 2 leaves of lettuce
  • 1/2 paprika
  • 1/2 cucumber

Salad Dressing

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp plum syrup
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp black sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

First, thoroughly wash the lettuce leaves under running water. Gently separate the leaves, rinse them carefully, and then drain them completely in a colander. Ensuring all excess water is removed is key for a crisp salad. Once drained, tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces, about 3-4 cm in size. Tearing by hand preserves a better texture than cutting.

Next, take the acorn jelly out of its packaging and rinse it lightly. Slice it into 1cm thick pieces first, then cut these into strips about 3-4 cm long. Prepare the cucumber and paprika by removing the seeds and slicing them into similar lengths as the acorn jelly. Arrange these prepared ingredients attractively over the drained lettuce to form the salad base.

Now, let’s make a delicious salad dressing! In a small bowl, combine 2 Tbsp of soy sauce for a deep flavor, 1 Tbsp of balsamic vinegar for a tangy sweetness, and 2 Tbsp of plum syrup for a mild sweetness. Add 1 Tbsp of sesame oil for a nutty aroma and finally, 2 tsp of black sesame seeds for texture and visual appeal. Whisk everything together with a spoon until all ingredients are well combined and the dressing is smooth.
