Chef’s Kiss Curry Fried Rice
[TV Recipe – Chef’s Kitchen] Irresistible Curry Fried Rice
I was inspired by a recipe for curry fried rice shown on the TV show ‘Chef’s Kitchen’ where they fried curry powder in oil. Everyone who tried it raved about how delicious it was, and I was eager to make it myself. Although no exact measurements were given, I adjusted them to my preference. I thought adding even more garlic would be fantastic! It truly had an exotic flavor as described, which was surprising. It’s incredibly simple to make. Using brown rice gives it a satisfying, diet-friendly fried rice feel.
Ingredients- Curry powder 2 Tbsp (approx. 12g)
- Cooking oil 2 Tbsp
- 1 Egg
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 1 serving Brown rice
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thinly slice the 4 cloves of garlic into slivers. Slicing them this way will make the fried garlic crisper and more delicious later.
Step 2
Preheat a pan over low heat, add a little cooking oil, and scramble the egg. Once cooked, set the scrambled egg aside in a separate bowl.
Step 3
Add 2 Tbsp of cooking oil to the pan and fry the sliced garlic over low heat until golden brown. Be careful not to burn the garlic; frying it like this will deepen its flavor significantly.
Step 4
In the same oil used for frying the garlic, add 2 Tbsp of curry powder over low heat. Stir-fry for about 1 to 1.5 minutes until fragrant, making sure it doesn’t burn. This step is key to bringing out the unique curry aroma.
Step 5
Add the 1 serving of brown rice to the fragrant, curry-infused oil. Using a spatula, gently break apart the rice grains and stir-fry evenly, being careful not to mash them. It’s important to coat every grain of rice with the curry sauce.
Step 6
Once the rice is evenly coated with the curry and has a beautiful color, turn off the heat. Add the pre-made scrambled egg to the rice and gently mix it in. Stir so the rice and egg combine smoothly.
Step 7
Serve the finished curry fried rice attractively in a bowl. Finally, generously top with the crispy fried garlic slices for a complete dish! Enjoy this savory and aromatic curry fried rice.
