  • Minced garlic 1 tsp
  • Cooking oil 2 Tbsp

Rabokki Sauce

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare all your ingredients as shown in the photo, cutting them into bite-sized pieces. Rinse the rice cakes under running water. Place them in a bowl with enough water to cover, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave on 500W for 4 minutes until softened. Also, have your seasonings pre-measured and ready.

Step 2

Preheat a pan over medium-low heat and add the cooking oil. Stir-fry the seasoning ingredients (gochujang, gochugaru, minced garlic) over medium-low to medium heat for 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the water and the softened rice cakes, and bring to a boil over high heat.

Step 3

Once the sauce begins to boil, add the instant noodles and the prepared vegetables (cabbage, onion, scallion). Bring it back to a boil over high heat, then immediately cover the pan and reduce the heat to medium-low for 1 minute.

Step 4

Uncover the pan and cook for 1 minute over medium heat, followed by 30 seconds over medium-low heat. Transfer the rabokki to a serving dish, generously sprinkle with pizza cheese, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave for 2 minutes to melt the cheese. Finally, garnish with a sprinkle of dried parsley. Your delicious rabokki is ready!

Step 5

Tip: If you cook the ramyeon on high or medium heat from the beginning, the sauce might reduce too much before the noodles are cooked. Therefore, the key point to achieving the right sauce consistency is to first cook everything gently over medium-low heat.

Step 6

This rabokki is delicious even without cheese! Enjoy it your way. ☆
