Main Ingredients- 1 bowl cooked rice
- 1 sausage
- 2-3 Tbsp mozzarella cheese (adjust to your preference)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- Pinch of salt
- A little cooking oil
- Ketchup (for serving)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the rice. In warm rice, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. For the salt, add just a tiny pinch using your fingertips – this way, the seasoning will permeate each grain of rice beautifully. Now, use a spatula or your hands to press the rice firmly, mixing everything together. It’s important to knead the rice well to achieve a sticky texture.
Step 2
Lightly blanch the sausage in hot water to prevent it from losing its shape (you can also microwave it for about 30 seconds). Place the blanched sausage and a generous amount of mozzarella cheese on top of the prepared rice. Adding plenty of cheese makes it even more delicious when melted!
Step 3
Now it’s time to wrap the sausage and cheese with the rice. Cover the sausage with the rice, then shape it with your hands into a flat circle or a log, forming the rice dog shape. Make sure to seal the rice tightly so it doesn’t break apart, and press it firmly to create a solid shape.
Step 4
Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium-low heat. Place the shaped rice dogs in the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes, flipping them occasionally until each side is golden brown and crispy. They are ready when the rice is crispy and fragrant, and the cheese inside is melted. Serve the cooked rice dogs on a plate with ketchup on the side.
