  • 15g minced jalapeños (or to taste)
  • 20g canned corn, drained
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese, as much as you like
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese

Special Sauce

  • 1 tsp oyster sauce
  • 4 tsp A1 steak sauce (or similar savory sauce)
  • 0.5 tsp sugar

First, prepare the french fries. Spread the 500g of frozen fries in an even layer in your air fryer basket. Cook at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. (You can also bake them in an oven or fry them in a pan).

While the fries are cooking, finely mince the jalapeños to add a touch of heat. You can remove the seeds for a milder flavor, or leave them in for extra spiciness.

In a separate bowl, combine the minced jalapeños, drained canned corn, and all the special sauce ingredients: 1 tsp oyster sauce, 4 tsp steak sauce, and 0.5 tsp sugar. Whisk everything together until well combined. The steak sauce adds a wonderful depth of flavor and a hint of sweetness.

Once the fries are done, carefully remove them from the air fryer and transfer them to a large mixing bowl. It’s best to toss them with the sauce while they are still hot, as this helps the sauce adhere better and infuse the flavors. Pour the prepared sauce over the hot fries and toss gently until all the fries are evenly coated. This coating step is key for maximum flavor!

Transfer the sauced fries back into the air fryer basket or an oven-safe dish. Generously sprinkle your desired amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the fries, and then tear the cheddar cheese slice into pieces and scatter them on top. Return to the air fryer and cook at 180°C (350°F) for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and lightly golden.
