Beat the Heat with This Sweet & Refreshing Dalgona Coffee!
I made this wonderfully sweet and refreshing Dalgona coffee for my mom, who absolutely loves coffee. It’s a delightful treat that brings a taste of the cafe right to your kitchen.
Main Ingredients- 500ml Fresh Milk (Prepare chilled or warm, according to your preference)
Dalgona Topping Ingredients (1:1:1 Ratio)- 1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Instant Coffee Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Warm Water
- 1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Instant Coffee Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Warm Water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 1 tablespoon of warm water in a bowl or cup where you’ll make the Dalgona topping. (Using water that is too cold or too hot might prevent the sugar and coffee from dissolving properly.)
Step 2
Measure out 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. Regular white sugar works perfectly. (Feel free to adjust the amount to your taste.)
Step 3
Measure 1 tablespoon of instant coffee powder. Any type of instant coffee will work, but using one with a rich aroma will make your coffee even more delicious. (Ensure the ratio of water, sugar, and coffee powder is 1:1:1!)
Step 4
Combine the water, sugar, and coffee powder in your bowl. Whisk vigorously with a hand mixer or a whisk until stiff peaks form. It will start thin, but with continuous whisking, it will transform into a thick, rich brown foam. It’s crucial to whisk until the foam is firm enough to hold its shape and form peaks. (This typically takes about 5-7 minutes. Your arm might get tired, but it’s worth it for delicious coffee!)
Step 5
Once the whipping is complete, use a spatula to gently scrape down any Dalgona foam clinging to the sides of the bowl. This makes it easier to scoop onto the milk later.
Step 6
Now, it’s time to pour the milk into your serving cup. You can use cold milk or warm milk; both are delicious. Fill the cup about two-thirds full with milk, adjusting the amount to your preferred strength.
Step 7
Finally, carefully spoon the freshly whipped Dalgona foam on top of the milk. Gently placing it with a spoon or spatula will create a beautifully layered Dalgona coffee.
