Main Ingredients

  • Leftover bulgogi or bulgogi meat, appropriate amount
  • 1 serving of cooked rice
  • 1 egg

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, heat a pan over medium heat and add just a little cooking oil. Once the pan is warm, crack in 1 egg and quickly stir-fry it like making scrambled eggs until just set. Before the egg is fully cooked, remove it from the pan and set aside in a separate bowl.

Step 1

Step 2

In the same pan (add a touch more oil if needed), add your prepared bulgogi. If the bulgogi is already cooked, stir-fry it just enough to release some of its juices. If you’re using raw bulgogi meat, make sure to cook it thoroughly until fully done.

Step 2

Step 3

While the bulgogi is frying, break it up into bite-sized pieces with your spatula or stir it around as it cooks. Sauté for about 1 minute until the delicious aroma of the bulgogi is released.

Step 3

Step 4

Now, add 1 serving of cooked rice to the pan and mix it with the bulgogi. Use your spatula to break up any clumps of rice and stir-fry until everything is well combined. Add 1 teaspoon of oyster sauce and continue to stir-fry until evenly distributed; this will ensure the seasoning permeates the entire dish.

Step 4

Step 5

Finally, drizzle 1 tablespoon of perilla oil around the edge of the pan, then stir-fry everything together quickly. Once the nutty aroma of the perilla oil is fragrant, turn off the heat. If desired, sprinkle some seaweed flakes on top. Serving this with tangy well-fermented kimchi cuts through any richness and makes it even more delicious. Your incredibly simple yet flavorful bulgogi fried rice is complete!
