Main Ingredients- Hambak steak patty meat mixture, 160g (store-bought or homemade)
- Spaghetti pasta, 90g (for one serving)
- Sliced cheddar cheese, 2 slices
- Onion, 1/2, finely chopped
- Ketchup, 2/3 cup (approx. 160ml)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat a wide frying pan over medium-low heat and generously add cooking oil. Add the finely chopped 1/2 onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until translucent, allowing its fragrance to develop. Sautéing the onion sufficiently to bring out its sweetness is crucial.
Step 2
Add the 160g of hambak steak patty meat mixture to the pan. Use a spoon or spatula to break up the meat into smaller pieces as it cooks. Continue to sauté, breaking down the meat and mixing it with the onion and the rendered juices to create a well-combined base.
Step 3
Once the meat is partially cooked, pour in 2/3 cup (approx. 160ml) of ketchup and mix well. The ketchup will provide the sweet and tangy foundation for the meat sauce. Stir to combine the ketchup with the rendered fat from the meat and onions.
Step 4
Add 1 cup (approx. 240ml) of water and stir thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly combined. The sauce will start to thicken and develop a deeper flavor as it simmers. Maintain medium-low heat while it cooks.
Step 5
When the sauce has thickened slightly and the ingredients are well incorporated, place the 2 slices of cheddar cheese on top of the sauce and cover the pan. The melting cheese will add richness to the sauce and make it even smoother. Wait about 1-2 minutes until the cheese is fully melted.
Step 6
Add the 90g of pre-cooked spaghetti pasta to the sauce. Gently toss the pasta with the melted cheese and meat sauce until evenly coated. Once the spaghetti is well-coated with the sauce, your delicious meat sauce spaghetti is ready! You can garnish with parsley flakes or other herbs if desired.
