Main Ingredients- 1 bag fresh bean sprouts (approx. 200g)
- 5 strips of flavorful bacon
- 1 stalk of aromatic green onion (scallion)
- 2 cloves fresh garlic
- Pinch of salt (to taste)
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s start with preparing our ingredients! Thinly slice the garlic into slivers. Finely chop the green onion. Cut the bacon into bite-sized pieces, about 1.5cm in length. Having these prepped will make the cooking process much smoother.
Step 2
Time to stir-fry! Lightly coat a heated pan with cooking oil. Add the sliced garlic and the cut bacon. Stir-fry over medium-low heat for about 2 minutes. You’ll start to smell the garlic aroma, and the bacon will begin to turn golden brown.
Step 3
Once the garlic and bacon have released their delicious aromas, add the thoroughly washed bean sprouts to the pan and stir-fry them together. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, aiming for a slightly crisp texture in the bean sprouts. Then, add the chopped green onion, salt, and pepper to taste. It’s important to stir-fry just until the bean sprouts are tender but still have a slight crunch.
Step 4
This is the final step! Turn off the heat. Using the residual heat of the pan, drizzle in the sesame oil and sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds. The nutty aroma of sesame oil and seeds will complete your delicious bacon and bean sprout stir-fry. Serve immediately and enjoy!
