  • Occasion : Baby food
  • Cooking : Steamed
  • Servings : 3 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 30 minutes
  • Difficulty : Beginner

Ingredients

  • 140g ripe banana (about 1 large)
  • 30g rice flour (fine rice flour recommended)
  • 40ml milk (or baby formula)
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 slice cheese

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, peel the banana thoroughly. Place the peeled banana into a steamer and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Steaming the banana beforehand will make it much softer and easier to mash.

Step 1

Step 2

Place one slice of cheese on top of the banana pieces in the steamer. The added richness of the cheese enhances the flavor.

Step 2

Step 3

Microwave for about 20-30 seconds, just until the cheese starts to melt. Then, add 40ml of milk (or baby formula) and use a fork or a mashing tool to mash the banana until smooth. Ensure there are no lumps for a consistently smooth texture.

Step 3

Step 4

Add 30g of rice flour and 2 egg yolks to the mashed banana mixture. Rice flour is easy for babies to digest, and egg yolks provide added nutrition.

Step 4

Step 5

Using a spatula or a whisk, stir well until all ingredients are combined into a smooth, lump-free batter. The consistency should be slightly thick, similar to cake batter.

Step 5

Step 6

Pour the prepared batter into steamer cups or baby-friendly silicone molds. Decorate the top with thinly sliced banana pieces for a lovely presentation. Making fun shapes can encourage your baby to eat more!

Step 6

Step 7

Close the lid of the steamer and microwave for approximately 4 minutes. This will result in a moist banana bread that is slightly firm on the outside and soft on the inside. Cooking time may vary depending on your microwave’s wattage. Serve warm as a delightful snack for your baby.
