  • 1 packet MALINI Dried Shiitake Mushrooms (sliced)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Do you often enjoy making pot rice with ingredients like bean sprouts, radish, or mushrooms? When mixing grains and vegetables with white rice, the biggest concern is always the ‘water ratio’. But with this recipe, that worry is over! You can create delicious shiitake mushroom rice incredibly easily.

Step 1

Step 2

Prepare 300g of rice (about 1.5 cups). After rinsing the rice, simply add one packet of MALINI dried shiitake mushrooms. The water amount is pre-set at 390ml for 300g of rice, so just add it directly to your rice cooker. It’s very convenient as you don’t need separate measurements.

Step 2

Step 3

The dried shiitake mushroom slices will begin to absorb moisture as soon as they are added to the rice water. The shiitake mushrooms mixed among the white rice grains will scatter like petals, quickly making the inside of the pot look appetizing. Your delicious shiitake mushroom rice is getting ready to be served!

Step 3

Step 4

Now it’s time to cook the rice. If using an induction cooktop with a heavy pot (like cast iron), cook on level 7 for 7 minutes, then reduce to level 4 for 10 minutes to let it steam. If using a gas stove, cook on medium heat and then reduce to low heat for steaming. Adjust the cooking time slightly depending on your pot type and heat source.

Step 4

Step 5

As you make pot rice more often, you’ll feel your cooking skills improving. With this recipe, you too can become a pot rice master! After about 20 minutes of cooking, your fragrant shiitake mushroom rice will be ready, steaming hot. Enjoy a healthy meal filled with the deep aroma and chewy texture of dried shiitake mushrooms!
