Aromatic Perilla and King Oyster Mushroom Pan-Fry
Perilla and King Oyster Mushroom Pan-Fry [Lunchbox Side Dish]
Transforming plain king oyster mushrooms with the fragrant aroma of perilla leaves into a delicious pan-fried dish.
Main Ingredients
- 1 small King Oyster Mushroom
- 3 small Perilla Leaves
- 1 Egg
Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Soy Sauce (Korean soup soy sauce)
- 1/2 tsp Soy Sauce (Korean soup soy sauce)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the king oyster mushroom and perilla leaves. Gently wipe any dirt off the mushroom with a damp cloth or paper towel.
Step 2
Slice the king oyster mushroom into bite-sized pieces. Finely mince the perilla leaves to release their aroma and flavor.
Step 3
In a bowl, crack the egg and add the 1/2 teaspoon of soy sauce. Whisk gently until well combined and slightly frothy.
Step 4
Add the sliced king oyster mushroom and minced perilla leaves to the egg mixture. Gently toss with a spoon or spatula to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated.
Step 5
Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium heat. Spoon portions of the mushroom and perilla mixture into the hot pan. It’s best to form them into small patties rather than spreading too thinly for a better texture.
Step 6
Pan-fry until golden brown on one side, then flip and cook the other side until also golden brown and slightly crispy. Enjoy this delightful pan-fried dish where the fragrance of perilla meets the chewy texture of king oyster mushrooms.
