Aromatic Mushroom Rice Bowl
How to Make a Delicious Mushroom Rice Bowl at Home

Main Ingredients- 1/4 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 button mushrooms, sliced
- 1 bowl of cooked rice
- 4 sausages (or 2-3 strips of bacon), cut into bite-sized pieces
Seasoning & Topping- Shredded cheese, as desired
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2-3 Tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium or seasoned soy sauce recommended!)

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a earthenware pot or a wide pan over medium-low heat. Once the butter is melted, add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent, allowing its fragrance to develop.
Step 2
When the onion is sufficiently softened, add the cut sausages (or bacon) and stir-fry them together. The sausages or bacon will become golden brown and add more flavor.
Step 3
Now, add the sliced button mushrooms and cook until they soften and release some of their moisture, becoming slightly reduced. You’ll notice the mushrooms’ distinct, pleasant aroma.
Step 4
Push the sautéed ingredients to one side of the pan. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of soy sauce into the empty space. Once the soy sauce starts to bubble, gently mix it with the ingredients and stir-fry briefly to let the flavors meld. (Adjust the amount of soy sauce according to your preference.)
Step 5
Add 1 bowl of warm cooked rice to the pan. Using a spatula, gently mix the rice with the sautéed ingredients and soy sauce mixture until everything is evenly combined. Be careful not to clump the rice grains together.
Step 6
Spread the rice evenly in the pan, then generously sprinkle your desired amount of shredded cheese over the top. It’s helpful to slightly flatten the rice surface so the cheese melts evenly.
Step 7
Cover the pan with a lid or plastic wrap, and cook over low heat until the cheese is completely melted and gooey. Once you see the cheese stretching, turn off the heat and enjoy your delicious mushroom rice bowl! (Be mindful of the heat to prevent the cheese from burning.)
