Fried Rice Ingredients
- 1 potato (small)
- 1/3 carrot
- 1/2 onion
- 120g Spam or ham
- 3 Tbsp curry powder
- 2.5 bowls of rice (warm)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Finely dice all the vegetables (potato, carrot, onion) and the Spam (or ham) into small, bite-sized cubes. Ensuring the vegetables are cut into uniform sizes will help them cook evenly.
Step 2
Heat a frying pan with a little cooking oil over medium heat. Add the carrots first, as they are the firmest vegetable, and stir-fry until they are slightly tender.
Step 3
When the carrots are about halfway cooked, add the diced potatoes and continue to stir-fry until they turn golden brown and slightly translucent at the edges. This will enhance their flavor.
Step 4
Once the potatoes are golden, add the diced Spam (or ham) and onions. Stir-fry everything together until all the ingredients are cooked through. The Spam will turn golden and add a wonderful depth of flavor.
Step 5
Add the warm rice and 3 tablespoons of curry powder to the pan. Lower the heat to medium and gently break up the rice with a spatula, stirring well to ensure the curry powder is evenly distributed. Stir-fry until each grain of rice is coated with the curry.
Step 6
Taste the fried rice as you cook and adjust the seasoning. If it seems a bit bland, you can add another 1/2 tablespoon of curry powder and stir-fry again to deepen the flavor.
Step 7
Serve the delicious curry fried rice in a pretty bowl. The wonderful aroma of curry will have your child happily finishing their meal without any fuss! That inviting curry scent is always a pleasure to smell.
