Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, check and prepare all the ingredients listed for the recipe. You’ll need about 70g of chives, which should be washed thoroughly and then finely chopped. While it might seem like a lot for one serving, it’s the perfect amount once mixed.
Step 2
Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat and add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Crack one egg into the pan and fry it. Making a sunny-side-up egg with a runny yolk is recommended as it adds a wonderful richness when mixed into the bibimbap.
Step 3
Take a large bowl and place the warm cooked rice (about 200g for one serving) into it. Then, generously add the finely chopped chives on top of the rice. Next, add 1 tablespoon of gochujang (Korean chili paste) attractively over the rice and chives.
Step 4
Drizzle 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over the chives and gochujang. The nutty aroma of the sesame oil will further enhance the overall flavor of the bibimbap.
Step 5
Once your sunny-side-up egg is ready, carefully place it on top of the rice and chive mixture in the bowl. The creamy yolk will add a lovely texture as you mix and eat.
Step 6
Finally, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds over everything. Now, grab your chopsticks or spoon and mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Enjoy the fragrant chives and the perfect balance of spicy and savory flavors!
