Main Ingredients

  • 9 Button mushrooms
  • 1 slice Bacon
  • 1/8 Onion
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese, a little
  • 1/2 slice Cheddar cheese

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare your fresh button mushrooms. Gently twist and detach the stems from the mushroom caps by hand. Separate the stems and caps, then proceed to the next step.

Step 1

Step 2

Instead of washing the mushrooms under running water, it’s best to use a clean paper towel or dry cloth to lightly wipe away any dirt or debris from the surface, or peel the outer skin. This method helps to preserve the mushrooms’ natural flavor.

Step 2

Step 3

Finely mince the detached mushroom stems. Dice the slice of bacon into small pieces as well. These ingredients will form the delicious filling for your mushrooms.

Step 3

Step 4

Finely mince 1/8 of an onion. Thinly slice the 1/2 slice of cheddar cheese into strips. Ensuring all ingredients are finely chopped will make stir-frying and stuffing easier.

Step 4

Step 5

Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced onion and sauté until it becomes translucent and slightly sweet. Cooking the onions thoroughly is key to bringing out their sweetness.

Step 5

Step 6

Once the onions are softened, add the minced mushroom stems and diced bacon to the pan. Stir-fry until the ingredients are lightly browned and fragrant. Sprinkle with a pinch of black pepper to enhance the flavor.

Step 6

Step 7

Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper. Using a small spoon, generously fill the hollowed-out mushroom caps with the stir-fried mixture. Stuff them generously for a truly satisfying bite.

Step 7

Step 8

After filling the mushrooms, artfully arrange the shredded cheddar cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese on top. The cheese will melt beautifully, creating an appealing presentation.

Step 8

Step 9

Preheat your air fryer. Place the stuffed mushrooms with cheese into the air fryer basket. Cook at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for 6 to 7 minutes. Adjust the cooking time based on your air fryer’s performance.

Step 9

Step 10

The mushrooms are ready when the cheese is melted and golden brown. Be careful not to overcook, as the mushrooms can release too much moisture and become soft. Aim for a slightly firm texture for the best bite.

Step 10

Step 11

Arrange the finished stuffed mushrooms attractively on a serving plate. Finish with a light sprinkle of dried parsley flakes for an added touch of color and aroma.

Step 11

Step 12

These bite-sized stuffed mushrooms look like mini pizzas! Enjoy the rich flavors and aromas that fill your mouth with every bite. They are perfect for special party menus or as a healthy treat for children.
