Step 1

Step 2

First, wash the potatoes thoroughly. Cut them in half lengthwise. Dice the bacon into approximately 1cm pieces. (You can omit the bacon if you don’t have any). Cut the white cheddar cheese slices in half to make them easy to place on top of the potatoes.

Step 2

Step 3

To prevent the potatoes from drying out or hardening too quickly, add about 4 tablespoons of water to the bottom of the air fryer basket. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and lightly brush it with olive oil. This step helps prevent the potatoes from sticking to the tray after cooking.

Step 3

Step 4

Place the washed potato halves into the prepared baking tray. Brush the tops of the potatoes with olive oil. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of black pepper evenly over each potato half.

Step 4

Step 5

Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer and cook for 20 minutes.

Step 5

Step 6

After 20 minutes, carefully remove the air fryer basket. Top the partially cooked potatoes with the diced bacon and the halved white cheddar cheese slices. Return the basket to the air fryer and cook for an additional 10 minutes at 300°F (150°C). Your super simple air fryer bacon and cheese loaded potato is ready! For a beautiful finish, sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Step 6

Step 7

Be mindful that cheese can burn easily. I noticed mine was slightly browned because I let it cook for about 5 minutes past the timer. Since residual heat can continue cooking, it’s best to adhere to the recommended cooking times. The salty bacon and rich cheese add a wonderful depth of flavor to the otherwise simple baked potato, making it incredibly satisfying. This is a great recommendation for a simple snack for kids!
