Air Fryer “Crispy Outside, Moist Inside” Sweet Potatoes
Achieve the Perfect Crispy and Moist Sweet Potatoes in Your Air Fryer
This snack was incredibly popular among mothers in the neighborhood! It’s none other than sweet potatoes, which look like small logs. When choosing sweet potatoes, it’s best to opt for yellow or honey sweet potatoes, as regular chestnut sweet potatoes might not have as rich a flavor. This recipe creates a delightful contrast between a slightly crispy exterior and a wonderfully moist, almost creamy interior.
Ingredients- Sweet Potatoes (Yellow or Honey Sweet Potatoes Recommended) – 2 to 3 pieces
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Then, peel the skin completely using a peeler or a knife. Cut the peeled sweet potatoes into thick chunks, about 3-4 cm in thickness. It’s important to cut them chunky, as slicing them too thin can cause them to burn easily.
Step 2
Simply place the prepared sweet potato pieces into the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping too much. Some people like to add a little oil for extra crispiness, but I found them to be perfectly delicious even without any added oil. The natural sweetness and flavor of the sweet potatoes are quite remarkable on their own.
Step 3
Preheat your air fryer to 185°C (365°F) and air fry for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, carefully flip the sweet potato pieces over and continue to air fry for another 15 minutes. This total cooking time of 30 minutes will result in sweet potatoes that are beautifully browned and crispy on the outside, and wonderfully tender and moist on the inside! You can check for doneness by inserting a fork; it should go in smoothly.
