  • 6 Morning Rolls
  • 12 Vienna Sausages
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 3 Tbsp Pasta Sauce (Tomato or Rosé)
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese (paper cup measurement)
  • A little Mayonnaise
  • A little Ketchup

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Start by preparing 6 soft morning rolls. Handle them gently to prevent them from breaking when you hollow them out.

Peel and finely mince 1/2 onion. Soaking the minced onion in cold water for 10 minutes will help remove its pungency, making it more enjoyable for children. After 10 minutes, drain the onion thoroughly in a colander, pressing out any excess water.

Step 3

Make 2-3 shallow cuts on each of the 12 Vienna sausages for a better appearance and to help them cook evenly. Then, blanch them in boiling water for about 1 minute. This step helps remove any additives or excess oils, resulting in a cleaner taste.

Step 4

In a bowl, combine the drained minced onion with 3 tablespoons of pasta sauce and mix well. You can use your favorite tomato or rosé pasta sauce; adjust the amount of sauce to your preference. A sweeter sauce is often preferred by children.

Carefully slice off the top part of each morning roll with a knife. Then, gently scoop out the soft interior using a spoon or your fingers, creating a hollow space for the filling. Be careful not to tear the bread; aim for a depth that can hold a generous amount of filling.

Generously fill the hollowed-out morning rolls with the onion and pasta sauce mixture. Packing the filling in well ensures a more satisfying bite with every mouthful.
