Adorable Octopus Sausage Inari Sushi Lunchbox
Make a Delightful Octopus Sausage Inari Sushi Lunchbox for Picnics
What’s a picnic without a beautiful lunchbox? Let’s create an adorable octopus sausage inari sushi lunchbox using sausages and inari sushi! This recipe is not only visually appealing but also delicious, perfect for little ones and adults alike.
Ingredients- 1 pack of Square Inari Sushi Kit (includes fried tofu pouches, seasoning mix, and rice)
- Sausages (like Vienna sausages) as needed
- Roasted seaweed or seaweed flakes
- Sliced cheese (round shape)
- Cooked rice
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Make four evenly spaced cuts at the bottom of each sausage, about 1 cm deep. Be careful not to cut too deep, as this will help create the octopus tentacles. This is the preparation step for shaping the octopus.
Step 2
Gently boil the scored sausages in water until the cuts open up, revealing the octopus tentacle shape. Once the shape is formed, immediately remove them from the heat and place them on a colander to drain any excess water. Avoid overcooking to maintain the shape.
Step 3
Prepare the sliced cheese by cutting it into small circles, roughly the size of the sausage’s head. You can use a straw or a small circular cutter for neatness. These will serve as the eyes for your octopus sausages.
Step 4
Cut the roasted seaweed into long, thin strips. These will be used to create the mouth of the octopus. If using seaweed flakes, you can use them as is or slightly crush them.
Step 5
Assemble the octopus features: attach the seaweed strips for the eyes and the cheese circles for the mouth onto the sausage heads. Using tweezers can make this delicate process much easier.
Step 6
Prepare the inari sushi according to the instructions on your kit. Mix the seasoning packet with the warm cooked rice until well combined. Then, carefully fill the fried tofu pouches with the seasoned rice.
Step 7
To complete your adorable lunchbox, place the decorated octopus sausages on top of the prepared inari sushi. You can optionally wrap a thin strip of seaweed around the base for an extra touch. Your octopus sausage inari sushi lunchbox is now ready to impress!
