Essential Ingredients- 300g Pork (cut into small, bite-sized pieces for children)
- 2 Sweet Potatoes (for sweetness and a creamy texture)
- 1/2 Carrot (adds color and nutrients)
- 1/2 Zucchini (for a softer texture)
- 1 Onion (for sweetness and depth of flavor)
- 3.5 cups Water (approx. 700ml)
- A little Cooking Oil (for sautéing)
- Cooked Rice (to create the cat shape)
- Dried Seaweed (for decorating the cat face)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the delicious vegetables and sweet potato for our curry. Peel the sweet potatoes thoroughly. Cut the carrots, onion, and zucchini into bite-sized pieces (about 1.5-2cm cubes). This size makes them easy for children to eat and ensures they cook to a tender consistency.
Step 2
Now for the sautéing process. Heat a little cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the prepared sweet potatoes, carrots, zucchini, and onion, and sauté until they become fragrant. Once the onions start to turn translucent, add the pork and continue to cook. When the pork is browned on the outside, pour in the 3.5 cups of water and bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until the vegetables and pork are tender.
Step 3
When the vegetables and pork are almost cooked through, it’s time to add the curry powder to enhance the curry’s flavor. Stir the curry powder well to dissolve any lumps, then continue to simmer over medium-low heat until the curry thickens to your desired consistency. It’s important to stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan. You’ll soon smell the wonderful aroma of the curry!
Step 4
Finally, the most exciting part – the presentation! This is where the magic happens. Place warm cooked rice on a plate and use dried seaweed to create a cute cat face. Cut out shapes for the eyes, nose, and mouth from the seaweed, and arrange them to make the cutest cat face ever! Pour the delicious Kitty Curry over the rice, and watch as your child happily finishes their meal. Enjoy your meal!
