Adorable Cabbage Toast Ingredients
  • 3 slices of bread
  • 2 eggs
  • A pinch of salt
  • A dash of pepper
  • About 1/4 cup of finely shredded cabbage
  • 1 imitation crab stick (optional, shredded or chopped)
  • 1 slice of cheese
  • A little cooking oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

In a bowl, crack the 2 eggs. Add a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper to enhance the flavor. Whisk with a fork until the egg whites and yolks are thoroughly combined. Now, add about 1/4 cup of finely shredded cabbage to your liking. If you’d like to add more umami, finely shred or chop 1 imitation crab stick and mix it in for extra deliciousness.

Step 2

Prepare the 3 slices of bread. Using a knife, carefully cut out a square shape from the center of each slice, leaving only the crusts. This will create a space to fill with the egg mixture and other ingredients later.

Step 3

Lightly grease a heated pan with a little cooking oil. Place one of the bread slices with the center cut out onto the pan, with the empty space facing upwards.

Step 4

Carefully pour the prepared egg mixture (egg, cabbage, and crab stick) into the square opening of the bread slice, filling it up. Be mindful not to let the egg mixture overflow. Cook over medium-low heat for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown on the bottom. Once the bottom is cooked, gently flip it over.

Step 5

Place another bread crust onto the pan and toast it lightly. On top of the cooking toast, divide 1 slice of cheese into 4 equal pieces and place one quarter piece onto the toast.

Step 6

According to your preference, drizzle a little ketchup or Sriracha sauce over the cheese to add extra flavor. Be careful not to add too much, as it can make it too salty.

Step 7

Now, place another bread crust on top of the prepared toast, covering it like a sandwich.

Step 8

Carefully flip the sandwich so that the side you just covered is now facing the pan. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring the filling is fully cooked and the bread is crispy. Press down gently to cook evenly.

Step 9

Ta-da! Your cute and delicious Cabbage Toast Sandwich is ready. It tastes best when enjoyed warm!
