Addictive Toast (Mayak Toast)
Microwave Magic: Easy Addictive Toast Recipe for a Sweet and Savory Snack!
Craving a late-night snack? I decided to make ‘Addictive Toast’ with simple ingredients like bread slices I had at home. It’s incredibly easy and quick! Is this trend a bit outdated? Hehehe, but it’s still delicious!
Ingredients- 1 slice of bread
- 1 piece of butter (adjust to taste)
- 1 Tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp mayonnaise
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, spread a piece of butter evenly over one slice of bread. You can also use jam or other spreads, but if you love a rich, nutty flavor, I recommend using a generous amount of butter. The butter’s richness will deepen the toast’s taste.
Step 2
Next, sprinkle sugar over the buttered bread. Gently sprinkle it with your hands to ensure even coverage. If you have a sweet tooth, feel free to add extra sugar! As it melts, it will create a delicious caramel flavor.
Step 3
Now, use mayonnaise to create a border around the edge of the bread, like a little wall! This mayonnaise border acts as a barrier to prevent the egg from running out later. Be careful not to squeeze too hard when piping the mayonnaise, and aim for a consistent thickness.
Step 4
See the mayonnaise border? It might not be perfectly neat, but that’s okay! 😊 While the mayonnaise does add calories, the deliciousness is guaranteed! If the border is too thin, the egg might overflow as it cooks, so make sure it’s a decent thickness.
Step 5
Carefully crack one egg into the center of the border. It looks appetizing already, doesn’t it? The person who came up with this simple yet brilliant idea must be a genius! The combination of savory butter, creamy mayonnaise, sweet sugar, and a runny egg is bound to be irresistible.
Step 6
After adding the egg, sprinkle a little more sugar on top. If you’re going to indulge, why not add a bit more sweetness? They say ‘eating delicious food is zero calories,’ right? Enjoy your meal and have a wonderful time!
Step 7
Gently prick the egg yolk with a fork. This is important because the yolk can burst in the microwave, and a broken yolk means cleaning the microwave! 😅 If you have parsley flakes, sprinkle some on top for a beautiful garnish and added aroma. (You can skip this if you don’t have any!)
Step 8
Now, place the assembled toast in the microwave and cook for about 1 minute and 30 seconds. It’s a shame not to have an oven sometimes, but it’s so convenient to make such a tasty snack with just a microwave! Definitely give this a try with your home microwave.
Step 9
Once cooked, the egg yolk will be perfectly soft-boiled and moist, and the bread will also become soft and tender. If you prefer a crispier texture, I recommend using an oven or air fryer. Choose the cooking method that best suits your preference!
