Addictive Sweet & Salty Air Fryer Corn

Easy Air Fryer “Magic Corn” Recipe – Irresistibly Delicious!

Addictive Sweet & Salty Air Fryer Corn

Inspired by a scene from the TV show “I Live Alone” featuring Solar eating sweet corn, I’m sharing an easy Air Fryer “Magic Corn” recipe you can make at home. Even with regular glutinous corn, the flavor is fantastic, and the sweet and salty combination of butter, mayonnaise, and sugar is superb. Whether as a snack for kids or an appetizer with beer for adults, this delicious grilled corn will bring joy to the whole family!

  • Occasion : Snack
  • Cooking : Grilled / Roasted
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 30 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • 3 ears of corn
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of dried parsley

Seasoning & Topping

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (to taste)
  • Seasoned cheese powder (to taste)
  • 1/3 Tbsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, carefully remove the outer husks and silks from the corn ears. Rinse them thoroughly under running water. Pat the corn dry completely with paper towels. For easier handling and cooking in the air fryer, it’s best to cut the corn in half. If you don’t have a knife handy, you can easily break them in half with your hands.

Step 1

Step 2

Let’s make the delicious butter sauce! Start by melting 1 tablespoon of butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds until smooth. In a bowl, combine the melted butter with 1 tablespoon of sugar, 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of dried parsley. Stir everything together until well combined. (Pro Tip: If you enjoy a spicy flavor, you can add 1/3 tablespoon of red pepper flakes as in the traditional “magic corn” recipe. However, if you’re making this for children, consider omitting the chili flakes and generously sprinkling seasoned cheese powder after cooking for a delightful sweet and salty taste!)

Step 2

Step 3

Place the cut corn pieces into a resealable plastic bag. Pour the prepared butter sauce over the corn. Seal the bag tightly and gently massage the corn with your hands, ensuring the butter sauce is evenly coated on each kernel. A good coating will significantly enhance the flavor.

Step 3

Step 4

Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper and arrange the butter-coated corn pieces inside. Set the air fryer to 190°C (375°F) and cook for 20 minutes. (Helpful Tip: If you are using pre-cooked or boiled corn, you can reduce the cooking time to about 10 minutes at 180°C (350°F).) Since I’m using raw corn, I’m cooking it at 190°C for 20 minutes. Midway through cooking, open the air fryer and flip the corn pieces to ensure even browning.
