Greek Yogurt Fig Delight
Seasonal Dessert: Crafting a Delicious Fig and Greek Yogurt Treat
Imagine sweet, fresh figs filled with creamy Greek yogurt! This ‘Greek Fig’ recipe offers a delightful twist on a classic fruit dessert. Perfect for a light, elegant snack or a simple homemade dessert.
Ingredients- 6 fresh figs
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 3 Tbsp granola
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by washing the fresh figs thoroughly under running water, keeping the skin on. This step ensures any surface dirt or debris is removed.
Step 2
Gently pat each washed fig dry with a paper towel. Removing excess moisture is key to a good texture and prevents the yogurt from becoming too watery.
Step 3
Using a knife, carefully trim off the stem end and slice the fig in half vertically. Then, carefully slice off the top portion where the stem was attached, creating a neat opening.
Step 4
With the tip of a teaspoon, gently scoop out a small amount of the fig’s inner flesh from the cut side, creating a hollow space for the Greek yogurt. Be careful not to scoop too deeply, preserving the fig’s structure.
Step 5
Generously fill the hollowed-out space in each fig half with thick, creamy Greek yogurt. Pack it in gently but firmly to ensure it holds its shape.
Step 6
Place the filled figs in the freezer for about 1 hour, or until the yogurt is firm and set. This chilling process helps the dessert hold its form beautifully. Just before serving, drizzle with honey and sprinkle with crunchy granola for a delightful finish!
