If you have frozen blueberries stored in your freezer, you can create a wonderful blueberry smoothie with just milk, even without yogurt or bananas. We’ll introduce a healthy drink recipe that captures the rich color and refreshing taste of fresh blueberries, perfect for enjoying coolly without ice. Even if you’re not a big fan of fruits, you can make a delicious smoothie using just blueberries. Let’s get started on how to make this beautiful and vibrant blueberry smoothie!
Ingredients- 1 cup milk (200ml)
- 1 cup frozen blueberries (approx. 150g)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your frozen blueberries. Gently wash the blueberries in water with a few drops of vinegar. Rinse under running water, drain thoroughly, and then store them in portioned zip-top bags or airtight containers in the freezer for convenient use later.
Step 2
Now, add the prepared frozen blueberries and milk to your blender. Using frozen blueberries means you won’t need to add ice separately, as they will naturally create a cool and thick smoothie.
Step 3
Close the blender lid and blend until the ingredients are smooth and creamy. Be careful not to over-blend, as it can strain the motor. Blend just until you achieve a smooth consistency.
Step 4
Pour the smoothly blended blueberry smoothie into a glass. Thanks to the frozen blueberries, you can enjoy a delicious, cool, and thick blueberry smoothie without needing any extra ice.
Step 5
If you prefer a sweeter taste, you can add a little honey, syrup, or allulose. For a touch of tanginess, a squeeze of lemon juice works wonderfully. I personally prefer to minimize added sugar and enjoy the pure blueberry flavor, so I omitted any extra sweeteners.
Step 6
Blueberries are renowned as ‘superfoods’ for their abundant nutrients. Their rich anthocyanin content is beneficial for eye health, and their high fiber content aids in weight management. They also contain a variety of minerals, vitamins, organic acids, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium, making them an exceptionally healthy food.
Step 7
The finished blueberry smoothie is so refreshing and delicious that you can even enjoy it with a spoon, almost like sorbet! This summer, make sure to stay cool and healthy with the blueberries you’ve stored in your freezer!
