Main Ingredients- Hotcake mix 150g
- 1 Egg
- 100ml Milk
- 20 Vienna sausages
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, blanch the Vienna sausages in boiling water to remove excess oil, then rinse them under cold water. Pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels; this helps the batter adhere better.
Step 2
Crack one egg into a bowl. Add 100ml of milk and whisk them together until well combined and smooth.
Step 3
Pour the egg and milk mixture into the 150g of hotcake mix. Stir gently until there are no dry lumps of flour visible. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the batter tough.
Step 4
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Add a little cooking oil, then use a paper towel to wipe the entire bottom of the pan, creating a thin, even coating. This prevents sticking and ensures even cooking.
Step 5
Using a ladle or spoon, scoop a portion of the hotcake batter and spread it thinly onto the heated pan. Making the layer too thick will increase cooking time.
Step 6
Once the bottom of the batter is lightly golden and you see small bubbles and pores forming on the surface, place a Vienna sausage onto the batter. Quickly roll the batter around the sausage to encase it, similar to making a mini sushi roll.
Step 7
Repeat the process with the remaining batter and sausages. Once all the mini hot dogs are cooked, insert small skewers into them. This makes them easy for children to hold and eat, completing your adorable mini hot dog treats!
