  • 1/2 block firm or silken tofu (approx. 150-200g)
  • 1/2 head fresh broccoli (approx. 100-150g)

First, let’s prepare the tofu. Drain about half a block of tofu lightly on a sieve. Then, place it in a bowl and mash it thoroughly with a fork or a mashing tool until smooth and lump-free. (Tip: Using the back of a knife to mash will yield a finer texture.)

Now, let’s prepare the broccoli. Cut the broccoli head in half into bite-sized florets. Bring a pot of water to a boil with a pinch of salt, and blanch the broccoli florets for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become too mushy. After blanching, rinse the broccoli under cold water to cool it down, then gently squeeze out any excess water. (Tip: Lightly blanching helps retain nutrients and improves texture.)

It’s time to combine all the ingredients and mix them into a delicious salad! In a large bowl, add the mashed tofu and the blanched, squeezed broccoli. Drizzle in 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, add 1 tablespoon of fragrant minced garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of salt for flavor, and a pinch of black pepper. Gently mix everything together with your hands until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed – add more salt if it’s bland or more garlic if you prefer a stronger flavor.
