Ingredients

  • 1 bowl of cooked rice (warm)
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • 1/2 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 slice of ham
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 150g mozzarella cheese
  • A pinch of chopped parsley (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the vegetables and ham that will add flavor to your pizza rice. Finely chop the onion, red bell pepper, and yellow bell pepper after removing the seeds. Dice the sliced ham as well. Lightly grease a frying pan with cooking oil and sauté the chopped onion, bell peppers, and ham over medium heat until fragrant. Stir-fry them enough to bring out the sweetness of the vegetables.

Once the vegetables start to turn translucent, add the tomato sauce and stir-fry together. Continue to cook for about 2-3 minutes until the tomato sauce thickens and blends well with the vegetables, creating a delicious pizza sauce base.

Now, let’s prepare the rice. In a bowl, combine 1 bowl of warm cooked rice with 1 egg. Use a spatula or fork to mix them thoroughly, ensuring the rice grains are well separated and coated. The egg acts as a binder, preventing the rice from clumping and adding a rich, savory flavor.

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a wide frying pan over medium-low heat. Once the butter is melted, pour in the mixed rice and spread it out thinly and evenly across the pan. Cook for about 3 minutes until the edges become golden brown. Carefully flip the rice with a spatula and cook the other side for an additional 1 minute to achieve a crispy texture.

Spread the pre-cooked vegetable and tomato sauce mixture evenly over the golden-brown rice crust. Generously sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Cover the pan with a lid and cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly. Be mindful of the heat to prevent the cheese from burning.

Once the cheese is beautifully melted, carefully transfer the finished pizza rice to a serving plate. For an attractive presentation and enhanced flavor, garnish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley. Your delightful pizza rice is now ready to be enjoyed warm!
