  • 1 bowl of cooked brown rice (warmed)
  • 1/4 carrot (small size)
  • 1/3 white part of a leek
  • 1 egg

Seasoning & Aromatics

  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil

Cooking Instructions

First, prepare the vegetables for the fried rice. Wash the carrot thoroughly, peel it, and finely dice it into very small pieces. Wash the white part of the leek and also mince it finely. Crack the egg into a bowl and lightly whisk it.

Heat a pan with a little oil and pour in the whisked egg to cook like scrambled eggs. Before the egg is fully cooked, push it to one side of the pan or set it aside.

In the same pan, add the minced carrot and minced leek, and stir-fry over medium heat to release their aroma. Cook until the vegetables are slightly translucent and tender. The sweetness of the carrot and the fragrance of the leek will enhance the flavor of the fried rice.

Now, add the warmed brown rice to the pan. Use a spatula to break up any clumps of rice and stir-fry it with the vegetables. Continue to cook until the characteristic nutty aroma of brown rice is released.

Mix in the previously cooked egg with the rice. Stir-fry until all the ingredients are well combined. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper to your taste. Finally, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil for a savory finish and mix gently. Your delicious brown rice fried rice is now complete!
