Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 roots fresh ginseng (cleaned)
  • 300g chicken drumettes (prepared)
  • 100g chicken breast (finely minced)
  • 1/2 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/3 medium carrot (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 bell pepper (any color, finely chopped)
  • 3 stalks green onions (chopped, reserve some for garnish)
  • Milk (for tenderizing and removing odor)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (for flavor)
  • 2 tsp curry powder

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Begin by preparing all your ingredients. Wash and clean the chicken wings and vegetables thoroughly. Chop the carrot, onion, bell pepper, green onions, and thinly slice the ginseng. Finely mince the chicken breast.

Step 1

Step 2

Take the chicken drumettes and rinse them under cold water. Carefully debone the wings, but leave the small bone at the tip of the wing intact. This helps to prevent the filling from bursting out during cooking and keeps the dumpling shape intact.

Step 2

Step 3

Place the deboned chicken wings in a bowl and cover them with milk. Let them soak for about 10-15 minutes. The milk helps to tenderize the chicken and removes any gamey odors, ensuring a more pleasant flavor.

Step 3

Step 4

Clean the fresh ginseng thoroughly by scrubbing it gently under running water to remove any soil. Slice the ginseng thinly into rounds, then julienne it into fine strips. Set aside a small portion for garnishing later.

Step 4

Step 5

Finely chop the carrot. Ensure the pieces are small for an even texture within the filling.

Step 5

Step 6

Finely chop the onion. The sweetness of the onion will complement the other ingredients when cooked.

Step 6

Step 7

Finely chop the bell pepper. You can use any color you prefer for added visual appeal and flavor.

Step 7

Step 8

Chop the green onions finely. Reserve a small amount for garnishing the finished dish.

Step 8

Step 9

Place the chicken breast in a bowl and mince it very finely using a knife or a food processor. This will create a smooth and cohesive filling.

Step 9

Step 10

In a large bowl, combine the minced chicken breast with the chopped onion, carrot, bell pepper, green onions, and julienned ginseng. Add the curry powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together thoroughly until well combined, forming the dumpling filling.

Step 10

Step 11

Remove the chicken wings from the milk and pat them dry. Carefully stuff the chicken breast mixture into the hollowed-out chicken wings. Be sure not to overfill them. Secure the opening with a toothpick or skewer to keep the filling inside.

Step 11

Step 12

Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the stuffed chicken wings in the hot skillet and pan-fry them until golden brown and cooked through on all sides. Basting with the pan juices as they cook will help keep them moist.

Step 12

Step 13

Arrange the cooked chicken wing dumplings on a serving plate. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce. Garnish with the reserved julienned ginseng and chopped green onions for a beautiful presentation. Enjoy your delicious homemade chicken wing dumplings!
