Ingredients- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 4-5 cloves Garlic (thinly sliced or minced)
- 3 Eggs
- 200g Braised Beef (set aside a small portion for garnish)
- 1 bowl Cooked Rice
- Furikake (to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, rinse the garlic under running water, remove the stems, and thinly slice them into slivers. You can adjust the thickness to your preference or use minced garlic if you don’t have whole cloves.
Step 2
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan over medium heat.
Step 3
Once the butter has melted, add the sliced garlic and sauté over medium to low heat, stirring occasionally, until fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 4
While the garlic is sautéing, crack 3 eggs into a separate bowl and add a pinch of salt.
Step 5
If you’re using furikake, you can omit the salt or add just a tiny pinch. Whisk the eggs well until combined.
Step 6
When the garlic is golden brown, add 1 bowl of cooked rice and stir-fry everything together. This mixture on its own makes a delicious garlic fried rice!
Step 7
But today, we’re making Braised Beef Butter Bibimbap! Before adding the braised beef, set aside a small portion for garnish. Then, add the remaining braised beef to the rice and stir-fry.
Step 8
I used two types of packaged braised beef, which included quail eggs and meant the actual beef portion was smaller than expected. If you’re using canned braised beef, you can add a whole can, but it’s best to omit the liquid to avoid making the dish too salty, and only use the meat. If the mixture seems a bit bland, add a little more rice.
Step 9
After stirring and frying the braised beef and rice well, let it sit on the heat for a moment while we prepare the scrambled eggs.
Step 10
Although it’s called Braised Beef Butter Bibimbap, we can’t forget the charm of soy sauce egg rice! An egg is a must!
Step 11
Melt another tablespoon of butter in a separate pan over medium heat.
Step 12
Pour in the whisked eggs and stir with chopsticks to create soft scrambled eggs.
Step 13
To prevent the scrambled eggs from becoming dry, reduce the heat to low once the edges start to set. Turn off the heat when the eggs are about halfway cooked. This will result in moist, tender scrambled eggs.
Step 14
Place the warm rice into a serving bowl.
Step 15
Generously top the rice with the freshly made soft scrambled eggs.
Step 16
Finally, sprinkle some furikake over the top. I used the Bulgogi flavor of Ottogi’s Babchingu, but it was a bit salty, so using about half a packet might be sufficient.
Step 17
Garnish with the reserved braised beef. Your delicious Braised Beef Butter Bibimbap is now complete! It’s different from a regular fried rice and deserves its own name. The butter-infused scrambled eggs add a wonderful aroma and creamy texture, making it incredibly tasty.
Step 18
Wow! This taste is truly astonishing! The savory richness of the braised beef and butter is perfectly balanced by the subtle pungency of the garlic, and the occasional bite of garlic adds a delightful texture and flavor. If you find it a bit too rich, enjoy it by mixing it with the soft scrambled eggs for a harmonious taste.
Step 19
This familiar Braised Beef Butter Bibimbap and soy sauce egg rice is transformed into something extraordinary with just the addition of garlic! I can’t believe I didn’t think to add garlic sooner! While the packaged braised beef was a bit pricey, it seemed to contribute to the delicious flavor. I imagine it would be even more delicious made with homemade braised beef.
Step 20
Every spoonful of this Braised Beef Butter Bibimbap brings happiness! Since all ingredients are store-bought, it’s incredibly easy to make, making it a perfect quick meal for anyone living alone. If you’re looking for kid-friendly meal ideas or need a delicious option when your appetite is low due to the heat, give this a try.
