Enjoy the genuine essence of corn with this straightforward recipe.
Ingredients- 6-7 ears of fresh corn
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
In a large, deep pot, add enough water to generously cover the bottom, and place a steamer rack (trivet) inside. Cover the pot and bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.
Step 2
While the water heats up, prepare the corn. Peel away all the outer husks, but leave the innermost 1-2 layers of tender leaves intact. You can also leave a bit of the silk attached, as it can add to the corn’s unique aroma.
Step 3
Once the water is boiling vigorously, reduce the heat to low. Arrange the prepared corn ears on the steamer rack, cover the pot, and steam gently for about 1 hour. This will ensure the corn is cooked through, becoming sweet and tender.
Step 4
After steaming, carefully remove the corn from the pot and spread it out on a wire rack or a large tray to cool down. Once completely cooled, store it in an airtight container or a zip-top bag in the freezer. This way, you can enjoy delicious steamed corn for a long time.
