  • 1 bunch scallions (chopped roughly)
  • 30g Spam or sausage (diced)
  • 30g fermented kimchi (chopped)
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg

In just 1 minute, you can transform simple ingredients into Baek Jong-won’s famous Kimchi Fried Rice, a delightful character-themed dish! Let’s get cooking!

First, prepare all your ingredients. Wash and chop the scallions, dice the Spam or sausage, and finely chop the kimchi. Having everything prepped makes the cooking process smooth.

Heat 1 teaspoon of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium-low heat. Add the chopped scallions and stir-fry until fragrant to create a flavorful scallion oil. (If you like, you can also stir-fry some green chili peppers with the scallions for extra aroma.)

Once the scallions are fragrant, add the chopped kimchi and Spam (or sausage) to the pan. Stir-fry them together. Since kimchi and Spam are already seasoned, add just a pinch of sugar to balance the flavors. Next, add the cooked rice. Use your spatula to break up any clumps of rice and stir-fry until well combined. Finally, season with salt to your taste.
