  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1.5 Tbsp minced garlic (about 5 cloves)
  • Pinch of black pepper

First, prepare your fresh black tiger shrimp for this delicious garlic butter creation. Give them a quick rinse under cold running water and set aside.

Trim off the sharp legs and long antennae from the shrimp. This step makes them much easier and cleaner to eat after cooking.

Gently separate the head from the body. Then, make a shallow cut along the back (the underside) of the shrimp to devein it. Removing the dark intestinal tract will reduce any potential ‘fishy’ taste and result in a cleaner flavor.

Arrange the prepared shrimp in a single layer in your air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap. This allows for even cooking and optimal crispiness.

Now for the flavor boost! Top each shrimp with a small dollop of butter (you can use softened butter or thinly sliced cold butter). Sprinkle the minced garlic generously over the butter and shrimp. Finish with a light dusting of black pepper for an aromatic touch.
