Spicy Smoked Pork Belly Stir-fry
Deliciously Spicy Smoked Pork Belly Stir-fry: A Quick Main Dish!
I made a simple main side dish with smoked pork belly bought from a grocery store. It’s also great as a snack for those who enjoy drinks:D
Ingredients- 250g smoked pork belly
- 1 stalk green onion
- 2 Tbsp minced garlic
- A little cooking oil
Seasoning- 1/2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- Pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, slice the smoked pork belly into bite-sized pieces, about 1-2 cm thick. Chop the green onion into large pieces. If using a thick green onion, you can also cut it in half lengthwise before chopping.
Step 2
Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little cooking oil. Add the minced garlic and chopped green onion, and sauté gently to release their aromas. Be careful not to add too much cooking oil, as smoked pork belly releases a lot of fat on its own. Sauté until the garlic and green onion are fragrant.
Step 3
Once the fragrant aroma of garlic and green onion rises from the pan, add the prepared smoked pork belly. Stir-fry over high heat. Since the smoked pork belly is already cooked, just stir-fry until the surface is lightly browned.
Step 4
When the pork belly is somewhat cooked, add 1/2 Tbsp of red pepper flakes and a pinch of black pepper, and stir-fry together. Adding red pepper flakes will give it a spicy, savory flavor and a appetizing color.
Step 5
Continue to stir-fry over high heat for about 1-2 minutes, ensuring all ingredients are well coated with the seasoning. Be careful not to burn the pork belly, and cook it evenly. It’s done when the green onion is slightly softened and the pork belly surface looks appealing.
Step 6
Transfer the finished smoked pork belly stir-fry to a serving plate. It tastes best when served hot. Enjoy it as a side dish with rice or as a perfect accompaniment to your drinks!
