Candy Making Ingredients

  • 120g Granulated Sugar (approx. 1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp)
  • 35g Corn Syrup (approx. 2.5 Tbsp)
  • 30g Water (approx. 2 Tbsp)
  • 1 tsp Food Coloring or Flavoring (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, combine 120g of sugar and 30g of water in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir gently as the sugar gradually dissolves, forming a clear syrup.

Step 1

Step 2

Once the sugar has mostly dissolved into a clear syrup, add 35g of corn syrup and continue to cook. Corn syrup helps prevent crystallization and adds a smoother texture to the candy.

Step 2

Step 3

If you wish to add color or flavor, stir in 1 teaspoon of food coloring or flavoring (e.g., strawberry, lemon) at this stage.

Step 3

Step 4

After all ingredients are well combined, stop stirring and gently swirl the pot to ensure the syrup boils evenly. To check the syrup’s consistency, drop a small amount into cold water; if it forms a soft ball that doesn’t dissolve, it’s ready. (Target temperature is around 150-160°C or 300-320°F).

Step 4

Step 5

Carefully pour the hot syrup into prepared candy molds. If you don’t have molds, you can pour it onto parchment paper and shape it as it cools. Allow the candy to harden completely.

Step 5

Step 6

Once the candies are fully hardened, gently remove them from the molds. Wrap each candy individually in parchment paper for a neat and beautiful presentation. You can also arrange them in a lovely glass jar for a decorative display!
