  • 1 bowl cooked rice (approx. 200g)
  • 6 strips bacon
  • 1 slice processed cheese
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • Pinch of toasted sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

First, in a bowl with the warm cooked rice, add a pinch of salt, a dash of black pepper, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon of toasted sesame seeds. Mix thoroughly with a spatula or spoon to season the rice evenly. Be gentle to avoid mashing the rice grains.

Shape the seasoned rice into bite-sized cylinders, about 3-4 cm in diameter. Make sure they are firmly packed, as this will help them hold their shape. If the rice sticks to your hands, slightly dampen your hands with water or apply a little oil before shaping.

Cut the slice of processed cheese into 6 equal pieces. Each piece should be roughly the size needed to wrap around a rice cylinder. If the cheese is difficult to cut, you can briefly place it in the freezer for a few minutes to make it firmer and easier to slice cleanly.

Now, let’s assemble the rolls. Lay a strip of bacon flat on a clean surface. Place a shaped rice cylinder on top of the bacon, followed by a piece of cheese. Carefully wrap the bacon around the rice and cheese, ensuring it’s snug. Gently press the ends of the bacon together to seal it, which will prevent it from unraveling during cooking.

Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium-low heat. Place the bacon-wrapped rice rolls seam-side down first. This initial contact helps to seal the bacon. Rotate the rolls gently and continuously, cooking until the bacon is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese inside is melted and gooey. Cooking over medium-low heat ensures that the rice heats through and the bacon cooks evenly without burning. Enjoy these delicious rolls immediately while warm, or pack them in a lunchbox for a tasty meal later.
