Baby Kimbap with Soft Braised Tofu
Iron-Rich Braised Seaweed (Tofu) – Creative Recipe 1: Baby Kimbap 😀
I’ve used the braised seaweed (tofu) recipe I shared earlier to make this. Children love kimbap, right? So, I prepared this for them! ♥️ It’s a simple yet nutritious meal perfect for little ones.
Main Ingredients- Beef Jangjorim (braised beef) 100g (for 1 serving)
- Warm Rice 150g (for 1 serving)
Seasoning & Others- Sesame Oil 0.5 Tbsp
- Kimbap Seaweed Sheets 2 sheets
- Sesame Oil 0.5 Tbsp
- Kimbap Seaweed Sheets 2 sheets
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently warm the prepared beef jangjorim in a pan over low heat. While warming, use chopsticks or a fork to shred or finely chop the beef into smaller pieces. This will make it much softer and easier for babies and toddlers to eat.
Step 2
Once the jangjorim is warm, add the rice and sesame oil to the pan and mix well. It’s similar to making fried rice! Stir-fry slightly until the nutty flavor of sesame oil and the savory taste of the jangjorim are evenly coated on each grain of rice. This step enhances the flavor.
Step 3
Take one sheet of kimbap seaweed. Cut it into appropriate sizes, as shown in the picture, so it’s easy for your baby to eat. (If you have small, baby-sized seaweed sheets, you can use those. If using regular kimbap seaweed, cut it into 2 or 3 pieces for easier handling.)
Step 4
Now, spread the warm rice thinly over the seaweed sheet, just like you would for regular kimbap. It’s important to spread the rice evenly without making it too thick. Then, place a suitable amount of the chopped jangjorim onto the rice. Gently roll the kimbap, being careful not to press too hard. Roll it smoothly.
Step 5
Delicious baby kimbap is complete! 🙂 I added some pickled burdock, which my child loves, to create a fun shape. Making them in cute shapes will make mealtime more enjoyable for your little ones. You can make more delicious kimbap using the remaining seaweed sheets!
