Main Ingredients- 1 bottle (650ml) store-bought Butter Chicken Sauce
- 2 pieces chicken breast
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- A little cooking oil
Side Dish (Cheesy Tortilla)- 3 tortillas
- 1.5-2 cups Mozzarella cheese (or cheese curds)
- 3 tortillas
- 1.5-2 cups Mozzarella cheese (or cheese curds)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the chicken breasts thoroughly and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Lightly season the cut chicken breast with salt and pepper for a subtle flavor enhancement and to remove any gamey odor.
Step 2
Let the seasoned chicken breast marinate for about 30 minutes. Then, heat a pan with a little cooking oil and pan-fry the chicken breast until it’s golden brown on both sides. The key is to get it slightly crispy on the outside while keeping it moist inside.
Step 3
Wipe the pan clean, heat it again with a small amount of cooking oil, and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. The garlic flavor will infuse into the oil, further deepening the curry’s aroma.
Step 4
Once the garlic is lightly browned, pour in the entire bottle of store-bought Butter Chicken Sauce and stir well to combine with the sautéed garlic. This step helps to bring out the rich and creamy essence of the butter chicken sauce.
Step 5
Now, add the pan-fried chicken breast to the sauce and let it simmer together. Cook over medium-low heat until the chicken is tender and has absorbed the sauce’s flavors. If the sauce becomes too thick, you can add a little water to adjust the consistency.
Step 6
While the butter chicken curry is simmering, let’s prepare the ‘faux naan’ to enjoy on the side. Lay one tortilla flat, spread a generous amount of mozzarella cheese evenly over it, and then top with another tortilla. Repeat this process once more to create a double-layered cheesy sandwich. I used cheese curds from my freezer, but regular mozzarella works perfectly fine too.
Step 7
Place the prepared cheesy tortillas into a preheated oven at 180°C (370°F). Bake for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning, as oven temperatures can vary. Enjoy this warm with your delicious butter chicken curry!
