  • 1 bunch Fresh Chives (approx. 100g)

Garlic Soy Dressing

  • 2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds

Begin by preparing the stars of your dish: one pack of smoked duck and a bunch of fresh chives. Feel free to add any leftover vegetables you have on hand, such as carrots, bell peppers, or cabbage, to enhance the colors and add a satisfying crunch. More vegetables make for a richer dish!

Now, let’s create the flavor-packed dressing. I’m using my favorite blend of minced garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and toasted sesame seeds for that nutty aroma. These simple ingredients will beautifully complement the smoked duck and chives.

In a small bowl, combine all the dressing ingredients. Whisk them together with a spoon or a small whisk until well blended. This creates a delicious garlic-soy dressing, and preparing it in advance saves you time during the cooking process.

Wash and thoroughly dry all your prepared vegetables. Finely julienne the carrots, bell peppers, and cabbage. Cut the chives into approximately 6cm lengths – any longer might be difficult to eat. Ensure the other vegetables are cut slightly thinner than the chives for a harmonious bite.

Smoked duck is delicious no matter how it’s cooked, but I prefer to lightly pan-fry it to render some of the fat and enhance its flavor. You can also steam it or use an air fryer. When pan-frying, cook over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. If it releases a lot of oil, gently pat it dry with paper towels for a cleaner finish.
