My Signature Spicy and Refreshing Stir-Fried Seafood Rice Noodles Recipe

Spicy Stir-Fried Seafood Rice Noodles with a Hint of Wok Hei

Hello everyone, it’s cooking ‘Gaeryeol’ here! I’ve been busy learning baking lately, which has led to fewer recipe uploads. But I’ve managed to snap some photos during my work breaks for today’s special dish: Stir-Fried Seafood Rice Noodles! You might usually think of thick, saucy rice noodles when it comes to stir-fried versions, but no, this is my unique take, tailored for the Korean palate. It has a light, brothy consistency, a spicy kick, and that irresistible smoky ‘wok hei’ flavor, reminiscent of Chinese cuisine. The preparation is incredibly simple; if you have the ingredients ready, you can whip this up in under 3 minutes! It’s a super quick and speedy rice noodle dish. You can watch the video for a visual guide or refer to the photos below. I highly recommend watching the video! ^^*~!!

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, take your prepared seafood and boil it in 300ml of water. The water used to boil the seafood will also serve as a flavorful broth, so be sure not to discard it!

Step 1

Step 2

As the seafood begins to boil, immediately add oil to a pan and sauté the minced garlic and chopped ‘cheongyang’ peppers. Be careful not to use excessively high heat, as this can burn the garlic and peppers.

Step 2

Step 3

Now, add all the prepared vegetables to the pan. Stir-fry them over high heat. The key is to coat the vegetables in oil as if you’re searing them, so they retain a slight crispness.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the vegetables are sufficiently stir-fried, remove the boiled seafood from its water and add it to the pan with the vegetables. Continue to stir-fry together.

Step 4

Step 5

Following this sequence, add the ingredients to the pan and continue to simmer over high heat. For an extra spicy kick, crush the ‘Wollam’ chili peppers with your hands before adding them.

Step 5

Step 6

Finally, add the sliced red chili pepper and ‘minari’ (water dropwort) for color and freshness, and simmer for about 10 seconds more. Your delicious spicy, wok-kissed seafood rice noodles are now ready!

Step 6
